Statement of Faith
The basis of Brookside Christian Academy is the Word of God and our programs and educators stand committed to the following:
- We believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God and the only means to salvation. Salvation comes only by grace through faith. Salvation is a free gift to all who believe. (John 3:18; Ephesians 2:8-9; John 1:12; Ephesians 1:7; Ephesians 1:13-14; Ephesians 2:10; Romans 8:38-39; John 10:27-30; I Corinthians 1:4-8; I John 1; Hebrews 12:9-11)
- We believe Christ is God manifested in the flesh, born of a virgin. He lived a sinless life, and suffered and died on our behalf. We believe He arose bodily from the grave, ascended, and is coming again in power and glory. Christ is the only mediator between God and man. (John 1:1-2; Luke 1:35; Romans 3:24-25; Romans 4:25; I Peter 1:3-5; Hebrews 7:25; Hebrews 9:24; Romans 8:34; I John 2:1-2)
- We believe the Bible is the inspired and authoritative Word of God. It is inerrant and is the final authority to all life and faith. (II Timothy 3:16-17; II Peter 1:20-21; Matthew 5:18; John 16:12-13)
- We believe it is necessary to have personal faith and a relationship with Jesus Christ. Through this faith, we believe in the promise of the presence of the Holy Spirit for all who place their faith in Jesus Christ. (Romans 8:4; I Corinthians 12; Ephesians 4-5; Colossians 3:16; John 16:8; Ephesians 1:13-14)
- We believe there will be a bodily resurrection of both the saved and the unsaved. (Luke 16:19-26; Luke 23:43; II Corinthians 5-8; Philippians 1:23; II Thessalonians 1:7-9; Judges 6-7; Revelation 20:11-15)
- We believe God has called us not only to salvation but also to discipleship. We believe God’s desire is to make us more like Jesus every day. (Matthew 28:19-20, Mark 16:15, John 15:16, Acts 1:8, Romans 10:14-15, Ephesians 4:16)
- We believe there is only one God. He is perfect, infinite, and personal. He exists as God the Father, Jesus Christ the Son, and the Holy Spirit. (Genesis 1:1; Deuteronomy 6:4; Psalm 18:30-31; Matthew 28:19; Mark 12:29; Luke 3:22; John 4:24, 5:23, 10:30, 14:9; Acts 5:3-4; II Corinthians 13:14; Hebrew 1:1-3)
