Summers at Brookside

Spend the Summer with Us!

Join us for our Summer Day Camp, Brookside Brainiacs, and Camp Kindergarten at our campus in Dunn, NC. Our Summers at Brookside Day Camps offer something for scientific and creative minds between the ages of rising first graders and rising sixth graders. These day-camp programs offer a variety of activities including archaeology, engineering, chemistry, and more.  All summer camp sessions are Monday – Thursday, 9:00 – 11:30 a.m.  All sessions are $100 per week for each student and include all necessary materials and a snack. T-shirts are available for an optional $15. Seats are limited to 10 students per session. Students must be rising first graders through rising sixth graders. For dates and descriptions of the summer camp sessions, see below. 

Brookside Brainiacs is an afternoon camp for rising 1st-8th graders. Students can attend the day camps and the afternoon camps and bring a lunch and stay. Brookside Brainiacs includes academic instruction to prepare students for reentry into school, indoor/outdoor recreation, and cognitive creativity.

Brookside Brainiac sessions are Monday – Thursday, 12:00 – 3:00 p.m. All sessions are $100 per week for each student plus an optional $15 for a t-shirt. If students choose to do both the day camp and Brookside Brainiac sessions, the cost is only $175.  The dates for Brookside Brainiac sessions are as follows: 

  • June 15-18
  • June 22-25
  • June 29-Jul 2
  • Jul 6-9
  • Jul 20-23
  • Jul 27-30

Camp Kindergarten is for children who have not yet entered kindergarten. Students get an idea of what kindergarten will look like, on a small scale. A veteran kindergarten teacher will coach students in the fundamentals of how to get through their day. Students will review the foundational skills needed for success in kindergarten. Mix in some singing, playing games, and story time and you’ll have a full morning for your future kindergartener.

Camp Kindergarten sessions are Monday – Thursday, 9:00 – 11:30 a.m. Camp Kindergarten sessions are $100 per week for each student and an optional $15 for a t-shirt. Camp Kindergarten dates are as follows:

  • June 8-11
  • Jul 13-16

Please include a non-refundable $25 registration fee per student for each session. You will receive an email confirmation that your child has a reserved seat in the desired session(s). More detailed information will be sent about specific sessions. This will include medical and emergency contact forms, balance and payment information. All balances must be paid in full by the first day of camp.

Registration can be completed using the online form or can be printed and delivered.

All camps take place on our campus at 804 W. Broad Street, Dunn, NC  28334.

Build It, Wreck It

June 22 – 25

Everyone knows the best part of building a tower is knocking it down! Join us for Plan It! Build It! Wreck It! a crash course in engineering and design like you’ve never seen before. Design amazing structures, build them using a variety of materials, and then create a machine to destroy your build!

Mysteries of History

June 29 – July 2

Have you ever wondered what secrets lay beneath earth’s crust? Could you be standing above fossils right now?! Join us for Mysteries from History as we dig up the answers and separate historical fact from fantasy.

Kitchen Chemistry

July 6 – 9

Can you really eat an atom? What in the world are molecules? Could we serve dinner on the Periodic Table? Find out the answers to these and other questions during Kitchen Chemistry as we use everyday household supplies to bring interactive hands-on tools out of the lab and into the kitchen.

Robo Coding

July 20 – 23

Come discover the thrill and excitement of soaring above the trees! Begin by exploring the design process behind creating obstacle courses for drones to navigate. Then use the coding commands you learn to pilot your drone to the finish line. Get out of your chair and into the air in Robo Coding!

Art From the Big Screen

Want to bring the magic from the big screen right into your hands? Get ready to create art that makes you feel like you are inside of your favorite movie! Art from the big screen features crafting art and tasting magical snacks that are inspired by the movie of the day! Come create, eat, and watch with us during this enchanted week!
